Are You Ready?
In order to learn to drive you must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid signed provisional driving licence, the only exception to this rule are those who receive Disability Living Allowance who are allowed to drive from the age of 16.

Your health and eyesight requirements
Before commencing any driving course you have to be medically fit and be able to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 meters. The new style number plate from 2001 should be read from 20 meters. This should be done with corrected vision if needed and this is recorded on your driving licence.
